Trellis
Dockable, nestable workspace panels with zoom navigation for editors and complex web tools, available as a TypeScript core, React adapter and custom element.
Working with this library
Verified 2026-09-30 against the official site, license docs and repository commercial terms. Install @danfessler/trellis, import its style.css, and use plain DOM, @danfessler/trellis-react or the trellis-workspace custom element. Register view types and a layout; JSON serialization supports persistence. Source-available, not an unrestricted open-source license: non-commercial use is free, commercial rights require continuing GitHub sponsorship, and publicly accessible products need attribution. The detailed license and docs count studio members (10 or fewer); the repository license overview inconsistently says developers. Confirm borderline organization eligibility with the author. Editorial value: specialized nested layouts for IDEs, art tools and operations consoles, not a general button/form kit. Tradeoff: complex workspace interactions need application-specific usability testing; no independent accessibility or performance audit was performed. Preview-stage status is displayed on the site.
