coss ui

Verified 2026-09-30. Official getting-started docs require a React project and Tailwind CSS v4. Add source with the shadcn CLI (@coss/ui or @coss/style) or manually copy component files and install their dependencies. This is the evolution of Origin UI; originui.com and the former origin-space/originui identity must not be treated as separate new libraries. The monorepo defaults to AGPLv3, but LICENSING.md explicitly exempts apps/ui and apps/origin under their original license; apps/ui/README.md identifies MIT. Scope the MIT claim to those component directories, not the entire monorepo. Editorial value: cohesive forms, menus and product controls using Base UI rather than a purely decorative effects collection. Tradeoffs: copied source makes local customization easy but requires managing updates; earlier Origin/Radix integrations may need migration. Accessibility is an author design goal, not an independently verified guarantee.
