Working with this library

Verified 2026-11-02 against official guide, repository and MIT LICENSE. Install splitting plus its optional splitting.css/splitting-cells.css styles, add data-splitting or call Splitting with a target and plugin. The library creates/indexes DOM nodes and CSS variables; it does NOT animate on its own. Supply your own CSS or animation library. Words, characters, lines, items and grids are documented plugins. Free MIT source offering verified. Editorial: useful for controlled text/grid micro-interactions rather than a pre-styled component system. Test reading order, selection, assistive technology and reduced motion after splitting; no automatic accessibility guarantee asserted. Guide contains legacy browser-market percentages; those are not repeated as current facts.
