Vanta.js

Checked 2026-10-16 against official website/docs and repository. MIT source. Install vanta or load an effect script alongside its required Three.js/p5.js dependency; initialize the effect on a container and destroy it on unmount. Match dependency versions to the effect examples rather than assuming the newest Three.js is compatible. The README shows React and Vue integration patterns, but the core is framework-agnostic JavaScript. Editorial: useful as a decorative background companion, not a component kit or sound library. The repository is not archived but its last observed push is March 2024; assess maintenance and dependency compatibility before adoption. Official site warns some effects do not work on mobile and WebGL can be slow on older devices. Provide a static fallback and reduced-motion path, protect foreground contrast, and do not treat the vendor 60fps/size statements as measurements. No paid library plan found. Closed the actual Customize panel through its visible close control before preview capture. No production integration or independent accessibility audit performed.
