Milkdown

Checked 2026-10-17 against official website/docs and repository. MIT source. For a ready-made editor install @milkdown/crepe and import its common/theme CSS; for custom composition use @milkdown/kit and chosen presets/plugins. The official React recipe verifies @milkdown/react with MilkdownProvider and useEditor. Other framework recipes are listed, but only the inspected JavaScript and React approaches are labeled here. ProseMirror and remark underpin the editor; Yjs collaboration is optional integration, not a hosted service guarantee. Editorial: useful for Markdown-first documentation and content-authoring interfaces; unlike general UI kits it focuses on editing behavior, syntax and plugins. Headless core and styled Crepe have different setup expectations. The homepage’s Japanese text is demonstration content, not a reusable asset license. No paid core-library plan found; optional sponsorship is not a required subscription. No independent accessibility/performance audit.
