# Vitsœ — Quiet Modernist Furniture

## Overview

Observed 2026-09-23T06:04:10.830866+00:00 at 1440 × 1000 CSS pixels, device scale factor 1; mobile reviewed at 390 × 844. Measurements below are computed CSS unless explicitly labeled as visual estimates. Static capture cannot establish interaction or animation states.

Vitsœ presents long-lived modular furniture through calm editorial composition. The opening pairs a small explanatory text column with a much wider photograph of shelving in a lived-in room. Two secondary product stories follow with equal visual weight, before the page explains its values, service and customer perspective. The design's character comes from Univers typography, uncompromised white space, rectangular photography and modest blue links rather than decorative cards or large purchase buttons.

## Colors

Use white #FFFFFF for the main canvas, black #000000 for typography and measured blue #0073B1 for navigational actions and linked article headings. The footer shifts to measured #F0F0F0. Fine neutral-gray horizontal rules separate editorial chapters; their exact color was not sampled. These are intentionally few interface colors. The orange sofa, warm leather, pale shelving, yellow chair and book spines bring color through photography, not through an expanded UI palette.

The red lips illustration beside the customer quote is an isolated editorial accent, not a primary action token. Preserve that distinction when adapting the composition. A neutral interface gives room imagery its natural tonal variation.

## Typography

The declared family is Linotype Univers W01 with Helvetica, Arial and sans-serif fallbacks. Desktop product and major section headings measure 32px/40px at weight 700. Value propositions, Lifelong service and Keep in touch use the same 32px/40px scale at weight 400. This change of weight supplies hierarchy without requiring a second font family. Body copy measures 17px/24px at weight 400, while compact link and footer-heading text is 16px at weight 700. Article titles use 16px/24px. The main customer quote is 32px/40px, regular, while its small section label is 16px/20px, bold.

At 390px, product headings reduce to 26px/32px; body remains 17px/24px. The quote and lighter section headings likewise become 26px/32px. This preserves readable narrative text instead of shrinking the entire page proportionally. Tracking is normal in sampled headings and paragraphs. Use short, naturally wrapped headings; do not add uppercase tracking or oversized display type absent from this reference. Font measurements describe the source and do not establish font licensing rights.

## Layout

At 1440px, the main content runs from x=197 to x=1243, a 1046px region. Align the wordmark, navigation and editorial sections to this shared grid. The masthead is two-tiered: logo and design credit at left, small utilities at right, then a simple row of product links. A full-width hairline closes the header.

The opening text is 338px wide; the shelving photograph is 676 × 380.25px. The image sits to the right with a roughly 32px gap. Keep the primary heading, two short paragraphs and blue Learn more arrow link as a single left-aligned reading block. Below, the chair and table stories use two 508px columns with a 30px gap, each putting title, body and link above a 508 × 285.75px image. Preserve the 16:9 photography and the roomy vertical gap between product chapters.

Why Vitsœ begins a ruled editorial section. Its title and ethos link share a row, followed by four value columns; each measured text column is 231.5px wide. Lifelong service returns to an approximately one-third/two-thirds split with monochrome team photography. The customer section puts a compact label and lips illustration on the left and a larger quotation on the right. A final row of four article previews uses roughly 237.5px-wide photographs, blue headings and short descriptions. A substantial white gap separates these stories from the pale-gray footer. Footer signup occupies the left half, while company, customer and professional link groups occupy the right.

At 390px, content insets are 16px and the primary column is 358px wide. The opening photograph moves above its heading and narrative. The two secondary product stories stack, as do values, service, customer content and article previews. Some lower editorial copy is narrower than the full column: values and quote samples are about 296.6px wide, and article copy about 286.4px. A compact masthead shows the wordmark, search icon and menu icon; the large desktop navigation is absent. Footer content becomes a vertical sequence. Both measured document widths equal their viewport. Intermediate breakpoints and menu behavior were not tested.

## Elevation & Depth

The interface is deliberately flat: sampled product images have no CSS shadows or border rounding, and the Subscribe control has no box shadow. Furniture depth comes from natural light, materials and the perspective in real interiors. Distinguish chapters with spacing and thin rules rather than raising each item onto a panel. The service photograph uses grayscale to provide a tonal break while keeping the page quiet.

## Shapes

Favor crisp rectangular images, open text blocks and thin horizontal dividers. Text links use a small right-pointing arrow as the action cue. The footer Subscribe control is a restrained exception: a measured 137 × 42px outlined rectangle, 1px black border, 3px corner radius and 10px 16px padding, unchanged in the measured narrow layout. Circular social icons sit beneath it. Do not turn product links into oversized pills or round off the photographs.

## Components

Reusable patterns include the two-level masthead, asymmetric image/text product introduction, paired product stories, four-column values row, service story, illustrated customer quotation, four-item journal row and utility footer with newsletter action. Repeated Learn more links and arrows support exploration without placing a checkout interface on the homepage. Consent and geographic notifications were dismissed through their actual controls for the submitted screenshot; they are not part of the editorial composition. Source claims, quotations and brand history are content-specific, not reusable proof. Search, menu, newsletter submission, shopping flows, hover and focus states were not exercised.

## Do's and Don'ts

- Do align major chapters to the same restrained content grid.
- Do use real rooms and product context to supply warmth and visual depth.
- Do keep body copy readable on mobile while reducing headline size modestly.
- Don't replace quiet blue text links with aggressive filled purchase controls everywhere.
- Don't add rounded cards, gradients or shadows to every photograph.
- Don't reuse the brand's longevity claims or customer quotations as evidence for another business.
