Mapbox Style Quality — Contrast and Style QA

When to use it

Supply current/previous style JSON, source data and target Mapbox runtime. Produces validation findings, contrast checks, change reports and an optimization/retest checklist. Distinct from choosing a cartographic direction or data encoding: this checks the implementation and style changes. Named validation/contrast/diff/optimization tools require a separately configured Mapbox MCP DevKit or equivalent tooling; a skill alone cannot run them. Static contrast tests do not certify an interactive map, and optimization must be checked against actual rendering. Mapbox service credentials and terms are separate from the MIT skill license. Source documentation reviewed; not installed or runtime-tested. GitHub stars are repository-wide, not skill-specific.

Installation

With Node.js available, run `npx skills add mapbox/mapbox-agent-skills --skill mapbox-style-quality`. Choose your supported agent and scope, retain the entire skill directory including references/, and start a new session. The README documents collection and plugin installation too. For tool-backed validation or style editing, separately configure the documented Mapbox MCP DevKit and any required account credentials; installing skill text alone does not provide those tools.

Review the source and instructions before installing in your agent.

Pair this skill with a visual reference

A skill guides how your agent works; a design reference shows the direction you want. Choose an example for a specific job, such as the headline hierarchy or form layout, and keep your project's existing design rules explicit.

Start with design references you can inspect, then use our guide to briefing an AI coding agent to turn observations into requirements. If you need implementation components, compare UI libraries for your stack.

These pages are public. Browsing a skill does not install it, and TastefulKit's design-reference MCP tools do not search the AI-skill directory.
