Designs and reviews terminal interfaces across Bubble Tea, Ratatui, Textual and Ink, with keyboard navigation, semantic color, narrow-terminal layouts, clutter audits and plain-output accessibility fallbacks.

When to use it

Use for terminal dashboards, interactive pickers and CLI UX reviews. The workflow distinguishes inline prompts from full-screen sessions, tests layout assumptions at narrow widths and routes to ecosystem-specific references. Not a browser or native GUI skill. Keep its reference files; framework details and terminal behavior need verification in the target environment. Also distributed in gfargo/skills; that provider copy is not a separate skill. Not runtime-tested.

Installation

Upstream cross-agent installation (Node.js 22.20+): `npx --yes [email protected] add gfargo/tui-design-skill -a codex`. Substitute `-a claude-code` or `-a cursor` for those agents. Claude Code plugin alternative: `/plugin marketplace add gfargo/tui-design-skill`, then `/plugin install tui-design@tui-design-marketplace`. Install the full skill directory including references.

Review the source and instructions before installing in your agent.

Pair this skill with a visual reference

A skill guides how your agent works; a design reference shows the direction you want. Choose an example for a specific job, such as the headline hierarchy or form layout, and keep your project's existing design rules explicit.

Start with design references you can inspect, then use our guide to briefing an AI coding agent to turn observations into requirements. If you need implementation components, compare UI libraries for your stack.

These pages are public. Browsing a skill does not install it, and TastefulKit's design-reference MCP tools do not search the AI-skill directory.
