Typography and Spacing Rules — Hamster — AI skill

When to use it

Use to author a project-specific typography section for future UI generation, then compare the same sample pages before and after loading it. Unlike a font picker or one-screen critique, its deliverable is durable written design policy. Requires existing brand choices and CSS/Tailwind context; Hamster is optional. Font bans, spacing scales and aesthetic defaults are contextual, not universal standards. Treat its contrast/text-spacing summaries as prompts for separate current WCAG checks, not certification. References and parent method provide supporting context. Not installed, executed or runtime-tested during discovery. GitHub stars are repository-wide, not a skill-specific rating.

Installation

Upstream single-skill route: npx skills add gethamster/skills --skill enforcing-typography-and-spacing-standards --agent codex --yes (choose your intended agent and scope). Keep the skill references and consult methods/taste-skill-frontend-design-framework/METHOD.md in the upstream repository when needed. Provide brand fonts/tokens and representative pages; request a typography-and-spacing rules section, then review generated pages against it.

Pair this skill with a visual reference

A skill guides how your agent works; a design reference shows the direction you want. Choose an example for a specific job, such as the headline hierarchy or form layout, and keep your project's existing design rules explicit.

Start with design references you can inspect, then use our guide to briefing an AI coding agent to turn observations into requirements. If you need implementation components, compare UI libraries for your stack.

These pages are public. Browsing a skill does not install it, and TastefulKit's design-reference MCP tools do not search the AI-skill directory.
